I probably use Youtube more than any other resource for researching the Tekkit mod. I like seeing what others are doing with the tools provided. When I need to get a little more detail on specific recipes or mechanics, I'll browse out to http://wiki.industrial-craft.net and http://minecraftbuildcraft.wikia.com/wiki/Minecraft_Buildcraft_Wiki.
