So, I considered grabbing everyones attention with my ability to copy-paste Lorem Ipsum. I mean, hey, Lorem Ipsum is damn popular (pig-latin) text out there, so what can go wrong, right? But I like to be special. Therefore, something else has to suffice...

... Oh dear, I chose another Latin text! But I sorta liked the meaning. (The fact I found it as a Lorem Ipsum alternative is only slightly relevant; see below.)

1914 translation by H. Rackham wrote:"But I must explain to you how all this mistaken idea of denouncing pleasure and praising pain was born and I will give you a complete account of the system, and expound the actual teachings of the great explorer of the truth, the master-builder of human happiness. No one rejects, dislikes, or avoids pleasure itself, because it is pleasure, but because those who do not know how to pursue pleasure rationally encounter consequences that are extremely painful. Nor again is there anyone who loves or pursues or desires to obtain pain of itself, because it is pain, but because occasionally circumstances occur in which toil and pain can procure him some great pleasure. To take a trivial example, which of us ever undertakes laborious physical exercise, except to obtain some advantage from it? But who has any right to find fault with a man who chooses to enjoy a pleasure that has no annoying consequences, or one who avoids a pain that produces no resultant pleasure?"

Now, read that, and ask yourselves: does this not suffer... I mean, explain Minecraft? Block by block anguish, instant happiness when that stupid redstone torch finally lights up, and frustration you can only get rid of by laughing manically when a creeper blows up your wall for the fifth time?

Okay, I hear you, and I get it. "Herp derp, this dude just wants to copy-paste stupid texts. Therefore, I will paste something else instead." There's always a critic out there. So instead, I'll feed you ascii art!

Code:
_                                      =  (
                                        255,
                                      lambda
                              V      ,B,c
                            :c  and Y(V*V+B,B,  c
                              -1)if(abs(V)<6)else
              (              2+c-4*abs(V)**-0.4)/i
                )  ;v,      x=1500,1000;C=range(v*x
                  );import  struct;P=struct.pack;M,\
            j  ='<QIIHHHH',open('M.bmp','wb').write
for X in j('BM'+P(M,v*x*3+26,26,12,v,x,1,24))or C:
            i  ,Y=_;j(P('BBB',*(lambda T:(T*80+T**9
                  *i-950*T  **99,T*70-880*T**18+701*
                T  **9    ,T*i**(1-T**45*2)))(sum(
              [              Y(0,(A%3/3.+X%v+(X/v+
                              A/3/3.-x/2)/1j)*2.5
                            /x  -2.7,i)**2 for  \
                              A      in C
                                      [:9]])
                                        /9)
                                      )  )

Nope, sorry. More copy-pasting, from this place[1] this time. (Do check out the Penrose Tiling script[2] from the same dude; it is equally sexy for the same reasons.) I am not that creative, after all. However, I do love this obfuscated Python script / ascii art I came across not too long ago as it very strongly speaks to my inner nerd. Why?

Because function goes hand in hand with the aesthetics of design. Although it is probably a bitch to maintain, it is worth it. :D Either way, this once more mirrors my fondness of Minecraft: I enjoy pretty things. I enjoy things of ingenuity. I can mess around with redstone mechanisms for hours, and although I suck at it, I don't mind a nice challenge. The best circuits are those that are compact and blend in well with their surroundings.

So what have I created in Minecraft prior to today? Not much. I've only had the game... two months tops. But personal favorites of mine have been a gigantic rainbow with tracks suspended in it (the pot of gold at the end never got made because the server poofed out), a few kilometers worth of underground double tracks, a glass tube surrounded by lava with (again) double tracks in the middle, and a nice hidden entrance that is particularly elegant. I'd post screenshots, but the servers with those creations are offline at present and have been for over a week.

When I am admitted to your server (yo, if you break my self-confidence I'll cry, srsly, don't do that!) I am going to be a completely lazy turd seeing the sights. At first, anyway. I'll gladly help out people with stuff they want as I like to start slow in new places until I get a feeling for the rules and community (as in knowing the dynamics and unspoken stuff; I do read the rules obviously). Going the 'woot I build my own shit in my own little corner' route sorta avoids people; I might as well play single-player if I want to go that route.

Oh, and why this place? Been eyeing it for a while on Ahnaris' channel since before I got MC. But it was friends who roped me into Minecraft, and their servers have been down for a while now. There's only 2-3 people at most playing in their servers (usually 0)!, and while it is fun and cozy when they are around, sometimes you just want to play and hang out on a server that is known to be up and working.

Also... It needs saying after the time I've been shitting in this text box. What retards use Comic Sans nowadays? For a _forum_? If you want people to write thought-provoking prose in their applications, don't gimme a brainbleed font to work in! :x

Final blurb of personal information: I am old enough to tie my own shoelaces, but too young for Viagra. I am not a native English speaker, but I speak the language more than fluently. I am from Europe, and have enough time on my hands not to worry about shit. I love being vague in public places such as application posts I am writing - Google&co are watching us for all of history to see and remember. The only thing I will admit to in public is being a web-privacy-minded individual. As such, if you want details or precise replies, ask me in person. I don't trust public media with personal shit. :)

Peace out.[3]

Secondary point of frustration: I cannot post links! :( I might fix this post at some later time after I _can_ post links.

Sorry in advance for the copy/paste reply, because that's what this is D:

I have your name down, and I'll be adding you to the white list as soon as I can. We've been having major issues with our server provider for the last 32 hours, and we're unable to access the server, the white list, or any of our configuration files.

So! Consider yourself on the white list, you're just technically not on the white list yet. I'll reply to your thread as soon as everything is sorted out and you're able to actually log on.
